I had a year to create a body of work for my first solo museum exhibition at the Carnegie Art Museum, Oxnard. One of my journeys took me to the City of Vernon, California. where, with my artist friend, sculptor Ray Sutton, I found this view looking under the Lincoln street bridge. I've since learned this is where the main line runs through the L.A. Corridor. My easel and I were about as close to the tracks as one could be without getting hit by a passing train; some might think me insane. It was great having Ray's company during the late painting night hours.
