Waiting for a Train August 11, 2012

Edward Hopper has always been an influence on my selection of motif. His Strong sense of design, and ability to render light on architecture, in a melancoly way, capturing a desolate mood.
I captured this scene in Goleta California, setting up in a grassy field opposit the Goleta Valley Train Depot on a Sunday Night. Nobody was around except for one person, passing the time reading her book while waiting for the train. This painting was part of my Solo Exhibition of Plein Air Urban Nocturnes held at the Carnegie Art Museum, Oxnard.
